I recently received this adorable mini-food processor for Christmas as a gift. I love cooking but I hate the time that I waste on chopping up herbs, garlic, and whatever that can be chopped (like bread). Although I already own a mini-food processor, it really lacked the power that this model has. Plus the bowl on this processor is bigger, allowing me to make more marinades, sauces, bread crumbs, etc...etc... than my previous processor could. I think the blade on my old processor was getting dull anyways. I had that thing for almost five years now. It was time for a new model. Even though the new model is noisier, it does get the job done. I haven't tried chopping nuts yet with this but I really like what it does with garlic and fresh herbs. I make a lot of marinades and this is the perfect tool to use for making marinades and/or sauces. Since I live by myself in a dinky one-bedroom apartment with not a whole lot of space, this mini-food processor is perfect for folks like myself.

just received this processor a few days ago from amazon. bought it for myself because i wanted a food processor but didnt need a big bulky one (i live alone). so far i reallly like it, it has sped up my cooking because i dont have to chop onions (or anything really) by hand anymore. jsut cut it up into quarters, throw it in the bowl, and blitz it a few times. i dont know what the difference between this one and the dlc-2fr is but mainly i chose this one because of the handle on the bowl and the 3 cup bowl. im happy with my purchase, i was very excited to use it the first time!
oh btw, it is a bit loud for such a little thing, but its ok because it doesnt continuously chop/grind, rather you either pulse it or hold the button down till you have a consistency you want. also the manual recommends you buy an extra bowl just for grinding becuase coffee beans or nuts may scratch your bowl. this is a pretty good idea, though im not sure where to find the extra bowl.

I use this all the time to chop up nuts, grate hard cheeses, and make small batches of hot sauces. Works well when you don't want to pull the full sized food processor out and assemble it and then clean it afterward. It'll chop a good sized onion up to start a pasta sauce, or a couple of hot peppers for a finishing to a stir fry. Very handy and pretty well built even for couple time per week usage year after year.

I still haven't found one of these mini-choppers that really does that job right, so don't expect that this is simply a mini version of a real Cuisinart food processor.

I had an even cheesier version of one of these, a noname brand from Walmart, and I'd hoped that the Cuisinart brand was going to be a big improvement. Unfortunately, while better, it still suffers from some of the same problems: the blade dulled quickly and food tends to twirl around inside the bowl without falling down onto the blades as in a full-size food processor. The dull blades mostly just beat up the food, and you'll have a helluva time acheiving fine mincing. And because the two switches are not latching types, you have to hold down the switch for the entire (excessive) time needed to fully process the food.

On the plus side, the top fits tightly while processing and the unit is fairly easy to clean. But don't expect it to fully mince 3 cloves of garlic...

Just wanted to say that now I couldn't do without this little kitchen mate! I am trying to lose weight without dieting and this food processor has been an amazing help. Why? Quite simply its size. I make smoothies, salad dressings and dips
all out of low fat Yogurt. I never eat too much because the amount you can put in this little baby ensures a perfect portion. Always be careful with the blade though, it is so light and small that you could easily give yourself a bad cut.

I have had no problems with it at all, even although it was reconditioned.

We've used this processor many times since it was delivered; it is very powerful and it's a breeze to clean up.

I almost can't believe how easy it is to switch from one food item to another. It's just great; certainly WAY better than the gigantic Hamilton-Beach food processor that is currently sitting in one of our closets, thankfully, out of sight.

And, to top it all off, it is far more powerful than the Hamilton-Beach food processor, even though it is at least 3 times smaller. I'm very happy with my purchase.
